Deep BleachingTM
One of the most common side effects from all bleaching products is sensitivity. The challenge is that it's easy to make a no sensitivity bleaching gel, but when you do that, the gel also doesn't get teeth their whitest. Over the last three years and after hundreds and hundreds of hours spent on research and clinical testing there has been developed a process that does not cause any sensitivity in 2/3 of the cases and in the other 1/3, at most, the sensitivity is only 8-10% of what was felt from past products. As well as being a less sensitive process, split arch testing (half of a patient's mouth) showed no difference between what we are doing now and bleaching done with lasers and lights. Now for those non-believers out there we still have those devices (ZOOM) but are able to get the same results without them, at a lesser cost to you - actually nearly half the cost.

guide from white to dark Above Right: split arch bleaching showing the
results with 1/2 the mouth being done
with lights and all the things needed to protect the tissue while the
other 1/2 was done with the process we are now using.
Below: results obtained with two different patients. The results of the bleach are fantastic but more importantly one side was done with lights and lots of other things, while the other side was without all that extra mouth full and with virtually "zero" sensitivity.

Before and After at Home Bleach Dr. Bouzis has provided smile-whitening for some time now, but like many
dentists it has been frustrating to be unable to achieve the results
wanted for some patients. After
much research Dr. Bouzis has discovered the most effective whitening
technique to date! You may
have seen him interviewed in the newspaper regarding Hi-Tech Dentistry.
If you have been disappointed with bleaching results in the past
or have been waiting for the right technique to come along – have we
got a miracle for you! Through
combining several methods if you want WHITE TEETH, this is the “real
deal”. The process
is so successful that if your teeth don’t whiten and you have followed
all recommendations precisely, we will refund the bleaching
charges minus the cost of materials.
This process involves an in office Zoom conditioning bleach,
custom trays for night time wear, and a final Zoom Bleach combined with
a method to “seal” in the whiteness - referred to as prep and seal. Are there any Short Cuts? Elimination of the first conditioning Zoom Bleach: This
approach involves no in office bleaching and is similar to how bleaching
has been done prior to lights and lasers.
It actually can be quite effective when performed with the newer
tray fabrication methods coupled with 100% compliance from the patient.
Cost savings is around $450 but keep in mind even though the
results may be very satisfying they are less than when used with the
Zoom procedure. Two in office ZOOM Bleaches - prep and seal: With this method you do not have to wear bleaching trays at home.
Your teeth will get whiter but really the only advantage is that
the results are more immediate. Truthfully,
except for those needing quick results or for those unable to wear
bleach trays this is not a reasonable choice since similar results can
be achieved with trays at a much lesser cost.
One in office ZOOM Bleach – prep and seal: Value: cost vs. results Whitest
results = Zoom before and after home bleaching Best
shortcut value – Home bleaching followed by Zoom Bleach prep and seal Least
predictable – one in office Zoom Given enough concentration and enough exposure time all bleached teeth have the potential to become sensitive. For most this seems to lessen once bleaching ends. Also, fluoride beforehand, inflammation reducing medication and desensitizing toothpaste during, coupled with in office desensitizing medicaments as needed, all aid in keeping the process more tolerable. However, it must be recognized that just as there are those that are unable to complete orthodontics or an MRI there will be those unable to complete bleaching. Well beyond our control we all have different tolerances. Should you find yourself unable to complete the process we will be happy to refund a portion of your charges minus our time spent and any materials that are not returnable or reusable. Note: this reimbursement will be different (less) than for someone who is able to complete the process but whose teeth won’t respond. Position Statement John L.
